ATP Final Champion 2020

Daniil stopped 71 matches Nadal’s winning streak! For 71 matches in a row Rafael Nadal hasn’t lost the match after winning the first set! And Daniil did it!
– Daniil, congratulations! You are into the final! What a match that was – it was such a tactical match as well you said that you would have to play your best tennis in order to beat Rafa (Nadal) how close to your best were you?
– Uh, yeah thanks a lot! I mean tough to say because I felt really strange, uh, till 5/4 for him in the second set when he was serving for the match I felt like I was doing great shots, but there was no link in my game and that’s why I was losing. He was better in important moments, I couldn’t return in important moments, I couldn’t make a good shot actually in important moments, and I decided to change some small things just be close or going for it a little bit more, because I felt like I had the chances to win before some games, set maybe but it didn’t work, so I had to change and it worked really well and I’m really happy about it.
– And to win this title you play Dominic Thiem, you’re going to have to win this the hard way, aren’t you? You’re beating the top three players in the world. – Yeah, Dominic is playing amazing right now already in US Open when I lost against him (in semi-final, Sep 2020) – after the match I was sitting in the locker and I was like I was playing good this match, but didn’t manage to do it. He won his first Grand Slam and I practiced also with him two times, first two times on centre court was with him – we had the good rallies, uh, was a really good level of tennis and I said to my coach “He can go far here”. I don’t know if he said the same stuff like this but I’m going to see him tomorrow looking forward to it – can’t wait.
– Thank you, congratulations!
– Thanks

I’m really excited to share with you some findings that really surprise me about what makes companies succeed the most, what factors actually matter the most for startup success.
00:12
00:25
I believe that the startup organization is one of the greatest forms to make the world a better place. If you take a group of people with the right equity incentives and organize them in a startup, you can unlock human potential in a way never before possible. You get them to achieve unbelievable things.
00:25
00:43
But if the startup organization is so great, why do so many fail? That’s what I wanted to find out. I wanted to find out what actually matters most for startup success.
00:43
00:52
And I wanted to try to be systematic about it, avoid some of my instincts and maybe misperceptions I have from so many companies I’ve seen over the years.
00:52
01:00
I wanted to know this because I’ve been starting businesses since I was 12 years old when I sold candy at the bus stop in junior high school, to high school, when I made solar energy devices, to college, when I made loudspeakers. And when I graduated from college, I started software companies. And 20 years ago, I started Idealab, and in the last 20 years, we started more than 100 companies, many successes, and many big failures. We learned a lot from those failures.
01:00
01:23
So I tried to look across what factors accounted the most for company success and failure. So I looked at these five. First, the idea. I used to think that the idea was everything. I named my company Idealab for how much I worship the “aha!” moment when you first come up with the idea. But then over time, I came to think that maybe the team, the execution, adaptability, that mattered even more than the idea.
01:24
01:46
I never thought I’d be quoting boxer Mike Tyson on the TED stage, but he once said, “Everybody has a plan, until they get punched in the face.” (Laughter) And I think that’s so true about business as well. So much about a team’s execution is its ability to adapt to getting punched in the face by the customer. The customer is the true reality. And that’s why I came to think that the team maybe was the most important thing.
01:46
02:12
Then I started looking at the business model. Does the company have a very clear path generating customer revenues? That started rising to the top in my thinking about maybe what mattered most for success.
02:12
02:21
Then I looked at the funding. Sometimes companies received intense amounts of funding. Maybe that’s the most important thing?
02:21
02:27
And then, of course, the timing. Is the idea way too early and the world’s not ready for it? Is it early, as in, you’re in advance and you have to educate the world? Is it just right? Or is it too late, and there’re already too many competitors?
02:27
02:39
So I tried to look very carefully at these five factors across many companies. And I looked across all 100 Idealab companies, and 100 non-Idealab companies to try and come up with something scientific about it.
02:38
02:49
So first, on these Idealab companies, the top five companies — Citysearch, CarsDirect, GoTo, NetZero, Tickets.com — those all became billion-dollar successes. And the five companies on the bottom — Z.com, Insider Pages, MyLife, Desktop Factory, Peoplelink — we all had high hopes for, but didn’t succeed.
02:49
03:06
So I tried to rank across all of those attributes how I felt those companies scored on each of those dimensions. And then for non-Idealab companies, I looked at wild successes, like Airbnb and Instagram and Uber and Youtube and LinkedIn.
03:06
03:20
And some failures: Webvan, Kozmo, Pets.com Flooz and Friendster. The bottom companies had intense funding, they even had business models in some cases, but they didn’t succeed. I tried to look at what factors actually accounted the most for success and failure across all of these companies, and the results really surprised me.
03:19
03:37
The number one thing was timing. Timing accounted for 42 percent of the difference between success and failure. Team and execution came in second, and the idea, the differentiability of the idea, the uniqueness of the idea, that actually came in third.
03:36
03:51
Now, this isn’t absolutely definitive, it’s not to say that the idea isn’t important, but it very much surprised me that the idea wasn’t the most important thing. Sometimes it mattered more when it was actually timed.
03:51
04:02
The last two, business model and funding, made sense to me actually. I think business model makes sense to be that low because you can start out without a business model and add one later if your customers are demanding what you’re creating. And funding, I think as well, if you’re underfunded at first but you’re gaining traction, especially in today’s age, it’s very, very easy to get intense funding.
04:02
04:21
So now let me give you some specific examples about each of these. So take a wild success like Airbnb that everybody knows about.Well, that company was famously passed on by many smart investors because people thought, “No one’s going to rent out a space in their home to a stranger.” Of course, people proved that wrong. But one of the reasons it succeeded, aside from a good business model, a good idea, great execution, is the timing.
04:21
04:42
That company came out right during the height of the recession when people really needed extra money, and that maybe helped people overcome their objection to renting out their own home to a stranger.
04:42
04:51
Same thing with Uber. Uber came out, incredible company, incredible business model, great execution, too. But the timing was so perfect for their need to get drivers into the system. Drivers were looking for extra money; it was very, very important.
04:49
05:03
Some of our early successes, Citysearch, came out when people needed web pages. GoTo.com, which we announced actually at TED in 1998, was when companies were looking for cost-effective ways to get traffic. We thought the idea was so great, but actually, the timing was probably maybe more important. And then some of our failures. We started a company called Z.com, it was an online entertainment company. We were so excited about it — we raised enough money, we had a great business model, we even signed incredibly great Hollywood talent to join the company. But broadband penetration was too low in 1999-2000. It was too hard to watch video content online, you had to put codecs in your browser and do all this stuff, and the company eventually went out of business in 2003.
05:01
05:39
Just two years later, when the codec problem was solved by Adobe Flash and when broadband penetration crossed 50 percent in America, YouTube was perfectly timed. Great idea, but unbelievable timing. In fact, YouTube didn’t even have a business model when it first started. It wasn’t even certain that that would work out. But that was beautifully, beautifully timed.
05:37
05:59
So what I would say, in summary, is execution definitely matters a lot. The idea matters a lot. But timing might matter even more. And the best way to really assess timing is to really look at whether consumers are really ready for what you have to offer them. And to be really, really honest about it, not be in denial about any results that you see, because if you have something you love, you want to push it forward, but you have to be very, very honest about that factor on timing.
05:59
06:23
As I said earlier, I think startups can change the world and make the world a better place. I hope some of these insights can maybe help you have a slightly higher success ratio, and thus make something great come to the world that wouldn’t have happened otherwise.
06:23
06:35
Thank you very much, you’ve been a great audience. (Applause)
06:35
On Sunday, August 9, 2020, the one and the only eco-educational space in Voronezh “Green House” was opened // В минувшее воскресенье, 9 августа, состоялось открытие единственного эко просветительского пространства в Воронеже

It was founded by well-known eco activists in the city: coordinator of the project “Ecodvor” and ecotaxi Katerina Khomich, manager of eco-volunteering in Voronezh Arina Novichikhina and organizer of the festival of healthy lifestyle and vegetarian shop GoGreen Julia Popova.
In the Eco Centre you can exchange books for a symbolic fee or borrow them, buy clothes in good condition that are not needed by others, various* eco-goods, as well as listen to interesting lectures on recycling, reducing your “garbage footprint” and many other things related to environmental education.

Everyone wants to live in a city in a good environment, but are we ready to make every effort to improve it? How to turn garbage in favor, activists know what to do in the project ‘’Ecodvor’’ – the All-Russian activity, which takes place in more than 50 regions of the country.
Many people in modern society think about the fate of the environment, but do not know how to help it.
Activists from the Ecodvor team come up with ideas of conscious consumption, the importance of separate collection and recycling and also they are organizing activities in conjunction with educational institutions.
What is recyclable? What receiving centres for useful waste do we have in the city? How can we prepare secondary raw material for recycling? What can you make from unnecessary things? Where can we give unnecessary things? How can you help those in need through separate waste collection? How can you organize a separate collection among your neighbors? You can find answers to these and other questions at the Ecodvor.
April 18 is the International Day for Monuments and Historic sites and on April 20, 2019 Voronezh was not standing aside. A “clean up” was organized at Podkletnensky Kurgan burial ground, one of the largest monuments of Eastern Europe of the Bronze Age. It is located in Figure Grove (“Figurnaya ”), near the Bolshoi Lake.
This is an amazing place that isRoscha of interest not only for archaeologists, but also for residents who are interested in the history of their city.
In 1942, on this exact territory, fierce battles were fought to defendVoronezh. Traces of dugouts and trenches are still preserved today. I learned a lot from Alexander Nikitin, who, before the start of the clean-up, made a small-but- exciting guided tour of “Figurnaya Roscha.” But the amount of garbage in some places, especially on the shore of the lake, popular among holidaymakers, is terrifying.
We collected more than 90 bags of garbage. Much work has been done, but to finally clean the historic site, we must do at least this — and more! And how long will this neatness last? I will not call for anything, there are plenty of slogans without me. Let’s only listen to these slogans.

Whether we go underwater or die from the heat, a coral reef or fish disappear, the report “Global Warming 1.5º C”, which was released at the end of 2018 by a group of experts on climate change at the UN, caused a flurry of discussions.
Amazingly, this is exactly what is happening this year: floods in the Far East in July 2019 and fires throughout Siberia in the second half of July – early August 2019 – is this not enough to listen to environmentalists?

Global mean surface temperature (GMST): Estimated global average of near-surface air temperatures over land and sea ice, and sea surface temperatures over ice-free ocean regions, with changes normally expressed as departures from a value over a specified reference period. When estimating changes in GMST, near-surface air temperature over both land and oceans are also used.19 {1.2.1.1}
Pre-industrial: The multi-century period prior to the onset of large-scale industrial activity around 1750. The reference period 1850–1900 is used to approximate pre-industrial GMST. {1.2.1.2}
Global warming: The estimated increase in GMST averaged over a 30-year period, or the 30-year period centred on a particular year or decade, expressed relative to pre-industrial levels unless otherwise specified. For 30-year periods that span past and future years, the current multi-decadal warming trend is assumed to continue. {1.2.1}
Net zero CO2 emissions: Net zero carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions are achieved when anthropogenic CO2 emissions are balanced globally by anthropogenic CO2 removals over a specified period.
Carbon dioxide removal (CDR): Anthropogenic activities removing CO2 from the atmosphere and durably storing it in geological, terrestrial, or ocean reservoirs, or in products. It includes existing and potential anthropogenic enhancement of biological or geochemical sinks and direct air capture and storage, but excludes natural CO2 uptake not directly caused by human activities.
Total carbon budget: Estimated cumulative net global anthropogenic CO2 emissions from the pre-industrial period to the time that anthropogenic CO2 emissions reach net zero that would result, at some probability, in limiting global warming to a given level, accounting for the impact of other anthropogenic emissions. {2.2.2}
Remaining carbon budget: Estimated cumulative net global anthropogenic CO2 emissions from a given start date to the time that anthropogenic CO2 emissions reach net zero that would result, at some probability, in limiting global warming to a given level, accounting for the impact of other anthropogenic emissions. {2.2.2}
Temperature overshoot: The temporary exceedance of a specified level of global warming.
Emission pathways: In this Summary for Policymakers, the modelled trajectories of global anthropogenic emissions over the 21st century are termed emission pathways. Emission pathways are classified by their temperature trajectory over the 21st century: pathways giving at least 50% probability based on current knowledge of limiting global warming to below 1.5°C are classified as ‘no overshoot’; those limiting warming to below 1.6°C and returning to 1.5°C by 2100 are classified as ‘1.5°C limited-overshoot’; while those exceeding 1.6°C but still returning to 1.5°C by 2100 are classified as ‘higher-overshoot’.
Impacts: Effects of climate change on human and natural systems. Impacts can have beneficial or adverse outcomes for livelihoods, health and well-being, ecosystems and species, services, infrastructure, and economic, social and cultural assets.
Risk: The potential for adverse consequences from a climate-related hazard for human and natural systems, resulting from the interactions between the hazard and the vulnerability and exposure of the affected system. Risk integrates the likelihood of exposure to a hazard and the magnitude of its impact. Risk also can describe the potential for adverse consequences of adaptation or mitigation responses to climate change.
Climate-resilient development pathways (CRDPs): Trajectories that strengthen sustainable development at multiple scales and efforts to eradicate poverty through equitable societal and systems transitions and transformations while reducing the threat of climate change through ambitious mitigation, adaptation and climate resilience.
“The degradation of nature and climate continues. And more and more sharply makes itself felt by droughts, crop failures, natural disasters. Incidentally, in Russia, we feel this most acutely. … The temperature in Russia is growing 2.5x faster than on the whole planet. And now, please see what is happening in the Irkutsk region now: a massive fire, hundreds of thousands of hectares of forest are burning, and a terrible flood. If nothing is done, then rapid technological development will not smooth out, but rather exacerbate the whole range of environmental challenges, including climate change and resource depletion.”

Moscow. Privet. Dobryi den. Spasibo. Ya lubim Vas (in Russian). It is my privilege and honor to be here with you. I understand that for anyone who does not speak English you all have a headset. Is that correct?
01:33
We’re good. Can you put your hand up if you speak English? Can I see put your hand up you speak English? Excellent! And put your hand up if you have a headset and it’s working. Fine. No. Okay. Well. I’m sorry I don’t speak Russian and they told me that you have headsets so I hope that that works out great.
01:54
I want to thank global synergy and the forum for having me here today. I really appreciate the children who sang that song. Can we thank those children who sang that song, please. Thank you. I want to say today that I don’t know who you are and I don’t know what challenges you have but not all challenges are bad.
02:23
There are times in life where things happen that you don’t understand how you’re going to overcome some obstacles you don’t know how to overcome some fears and I hope that today with the spirit of entrepreneurship that you’re inspired to not see challenges just as a bad thing but to see challenges as a good thing at times. We know that as an
02:49
entrepreneur, we could say well it’s very difficult to become an entrepreneur in Russia. it’s hard in Moscow either there’s a lack of resources or there’s too much competition or there is some other reason why it’s difficult to become an entrepreneur.
03:09
I don’t word I don’t say that I’m personally an entrepreneur as a primary thing or career but I’m first of all a father. I’m second of all a family man with my husband role with my wife Connie. I love my children and I love my wife very very much and no matter who Nick Vujicic is.
03:38
No matter what good and excellent things I ever take on. Whether it be a speaking career, entrepreneurship, projects, first and foremost is faith and family and I don’t know who knows the good news but my wife is expecting identical twin girls in three weeks time.
04:10
We already have two boys 4 and 2 years old Kyoshi and Dejan and they’re already taller than me and I used to be somebody who oh…There they are! Yeah! Aren’t they beautiful? Klassno! Krasivo! (in Russian).
04:27
I am… I never thought that my dreams would come true of being happy. I never thought that I would have peace in my heart. I always thought to myself that I would always be alone but my parents taught me some great principles and values to dream big and to never give up.
04:51
I was convinced that I would never be able to get married and even hold my wife’s hand. Well I don’t need hands to hold my wife’s hand I just need to be the husband that holds her heart.
05:05
And you don’t need hands to hold your wife’s heart. How am I gonna hold my kids when they when they’re crying I thought. Well I I cannot put my arms around them but they put their arms around me.
05:1927
And what I want you to understand is that the power of perspective of challenges is so key. You know my mum and dad they had a wonderful perspective and really amazing foundation of love.
05:34
They love me they told me that every day: “Nick, you’re beautiful. Nick, don’t worry about what anyone else says about you. Nick you can do anything you put your heart to.” I want you to know that if it wasn’t for a foundation of love I wouldn’t be who I am.
05:54
If it wasn’t for a foundation of love I actually wouldn’t be happy. Let me ask you two questions today: who are you and what do you want. I want to be real with you and tell you that achieving goals there’s nothing wrong with achieving goals.
06:11
There’s nothing wrong with making money but your identity and your value has nothing to do with what you achieve or what people think of you or how much you have.
06:24
We need to first get rid of that mentality of disability of victimization. When we have a challenge the first disability we have is “poor me”. I have no arms and legs.
06:39
Maybe your situation is different. Maybe you have an alcoholic father. Maybe you have a lack of skills. Maybe you want to start a business but you need money to start a business. Now you can either sit in the corner like I could have sat in the corner and said. You know what I have no arms and legs. I have no arms and legs.
07:04
But my parents said: “Stop complaining about what you don’t have and try to change what you can. Be thankful for what you have. Because if you are thankful for what you have now you use what you have. Have you ever thought about this way? Success is not how much money you have.
07:25
Success is understanding that somebody who has success was a master of using what they had to the best of their ability. For instance, if I don’t know how to invest properly 100$ . How do you think I’m gonna be able how to invest 1000$ properly.
07:52
For you and your life we become victims of what we have… I wish I had this and I wish I had that…My parents said: “Nick, don’t wish for what you don’t have. God didn’t give you arms and legs but he gave you a brain. Use your brain! You have a little foot, do something with your little foot.”
08:13
I wanna ask you today, what are you thankful for? Think of it, for a second. Because an attitude of gratitude is not outlined when we are in this victimization mode. Everyone is against me. I wish I was in a different place, I wish I was born up different, I wish I had more money, stop being a victim and see what you do have! And give yourself a chance.
08:41
I don’t wanna talk about broken pieces in your life. I wanna talk about you and where you are right now and your goal. Because, no matter where you are studying, we all start from the beginning. Take one step at a time, one step at a time, one step at a time.
09:01
You don’t know what’s around the corner. I don’t know, I can’t achieve it with my little foot until I try. Thomas Edison, he made the light bulb. Do you know how many times he tried to make a bulb? 10,000 times. Thomas Edison changed everything, look how many bulbs we have!
09:24
They probably have 100,000 lights in this auditorium. How many light bulbs are there in the world? Because that all started with a vision and a dream…
09:45
He tried his best with what he did have. And when someone came up to Thomas Edison and said: “Hey, how does it feel like failing 9,999 times?” You know what he said: “I never failed 9,999 times, but know I do know 9,999 times how not to make a light bulb!”
10:00
Isn’t that interesting? Is it okay? Is it okay to fail, Moscow? Is it okay to fail? Da? If you fail are you a failure? Net! Is it okay to fail? Yes! Who do you know who has never failed at anything?
Has your dad failed at something?
10:30
Has your mum failed at something? Have you failed at something? Has your spouse failed at something? We all have something in our life that we go through our ups and downs! If you see my foot ups and downs, ups and downs, ups and downs.
10:45
And I want you to know that you need to be your biggest encourager! You can be victimized by people who say: oh, that’s your dream and goal, it’s never gonna 28
happen!
10:57
Guess what happened when I told my mum and dad that I wanted to be a speaker? You know what she said: “Whoa. You want to be a speaker? And said uh-huh she said what do you want to speak about?
11:11
I said I don’t know. She said who’s gonna want to hear you speak? I said I don’t know. She said: “Are they’re gonna pay for you?” I said: “I don’t know.” She said: “Do you have any invitations?” – “No!” “How you gonna get them?” “I don’t know.” She said: “Even if you had something to say and someone wanted to hear you speak and they paid you. How are you gonna get to this speaking engagement?” Good questions, right?
11:44
now it wasn’t demeaning from my mum and dad. My mom and dad are very logical. They’re very wise! My mum and dad always said: “Nick, work hard! Life is not gonna be just something that you get given things! You got to do something! Don’t be victimized!
12:04
When I went through the shopping mall and I saw a toy that I wanted. When I said mom I want that! You know they said no! Pay for it yourself! but I have no money!
12:17
Good! Then figure out how you’re gonna get money! You see they were not mean to me but they didn’t want me to be a victim, to believe that everything is owed to me! They said to me: “Your brother, Nick, takes out the rubbish bin. Your sister is too young. You can do something at the house and get paid! What do you want to do? And I said you know what?
12:46
I’ll vacuum the floor! At six years old I started vacuuming the floor walking like this and holding the vacuum cleaner like this and go like this… and a week pay would be two dollars. If I wanted something from the store that cost fifteen dollars I’d have to save for seven weeks or eight weeks! Do you know what that taught me? It taught me patience!
13:16
It gave me dignity! It helped me to understand how important it is to save money! To set goals! All of those lessons came from my parents saying no to that toy! Please, don’t be a person that gives everything your children want!
13:38
I’m very generous to my children, but I also set goals for them and I want you to know that those early things that my parents did for me helped me to understand you know what? I have control over maybe not everything, but I’m gonna take control over what I can change. That led me to a
financial literacy career.
14:06
In my mind knowledge, expansion of a world of financial independence. I went into stock
market investing at age 16. Me and my brother when my dad was at work we traded his money on the stock market for him. We were teenagers!
14:26
At age 19 I bought my first real estate investment property and made 50% in one year! I want you to know that dreams can come true, but you need to be faithful with the little things first and try to figure out what mental disabilities do we have when it comes to dreaming big.
14:53
You might think that you will have people who will put you down. And you think that maybe my mom and dad were not encouragers to my dream but guess what? They were not the biggest discourages either! I was! I was! think of the 3 biggest discourages in your life, who are they?
15:21
It only takes 5 seconds for someone to discourage you and you walk away and guess what you do? You repeat it in your mind! When I go to school and people look at me and tease me at school. It takes three seconds to say you’re ugly! You’re ugly! you’re ugly! I walk away and I’m thinking I’m ugly! I’m ugly! I’m ugly! You are your biggest discourager or encourager? Don’t play the victim role.
15:56
Second thing, have an attitude of gratitude! I want you to think of something right now! I want you to think of actually the top three things that you’re thankful for! think of them! Are you a person who’s thankful? Let me tell you, I’ve seen more poor people happy than rich people happy! I’ll say it again.
16:21
I’ve seen more poor people happy than rich people happy! I would like to be rich and happy, but that’s the truth! It’s not about riches that give you happiness! But if I told you right now I want you to think of three things you’re happy for! I don’t think money is there. I think your faith is there. I think your family is there and I think maybe your friends are there.
16:50
Let me ask you a question, if you had 15 seconds to breathe what do you think of your life? When was the last time you hugged your wife? Or took her on a date? Or bought her flowers? Or massaged her stinky feet? When was the last time you had a conversation with your children?
17:23
That’s not got to do with a career or school or cleaning their room! You see my dad had three jobs, he was very very busy and my dad was a leader of a Protestant Church. He did that voluntarily and he did three jobs plus start a 29
church and he had a disabled son and two other
children and my mom had a full-time job as a nurse.
17:54
He was very very busy, but you know who my dad was to me? Not just my dad he was not just my role model. He was my friend and I talked about him in a past tense because seven months ago he died of cancer and I’ll never forget the times he was 62 years old pretty young.
18:26
Many people say, yes! Very young! But I’ll never forget when I was a kid that he will work so so so hard, but when he was home he was home! like when I go home I am home! if I take my phone to the dining table do you know what my wife does?
18:49
She grabs my phone and puts it on a high bookshelf and I cannot reach! Because when I am home then I am home! and when I’m with my family. That’s my greatest joy that’s my goal, that’s my passion!
19:06
Yes, you must sacrifice some family time for seasons. Especially when you’re starting a business, but don’t let the good and excellent things in this life distract you from the most important things!
19:20
Because today might be your last day, make today count! Make sure that you understand that at your funeral no one’s going to talk about your achievements. They’re going to talk about who you are, were you kind, were you loving, were your gracious, were you forgiving, were you thoughtful or self-centered?
19:57
I want you to know that culture doesn’t have to mend who you are. And yes the business world is difficult but you don’t have to change the level of integrity in your life, either. In fact I will tell you I would rather be a poor man with peace in my soul than a rich man who will never forget the lies he said or regret or shame or guilt.
20:29
Can you see a limbless man smiling? It’s because it has nothing to do with arms and legs! And I’m telling you young entrepreneurs and older entrepreneurs of Moscow and the future of Russia, your integrity matters because who you are and how you do what you do sets the bar and the foundation of this nation!
20:57
That practices of many countries are being – now 68 countries and there are many business people who believe that it’s okay to bend on different integrity levels. I’ll tell you right now, the moment you are not integrity as a citizen of Russia, I want you to know that you have stopped the full potential of this country. It is with integrity that we do everything. We do and that’s life!
21:28
How do I expect my sons to know how to be a good husband who cherishes their wife. If I don’t show them how I cherish their mother, how will I expect my sons to know what generosity is until they see? Their father donates his time and money, a million dollars, through our nonprofit organization to setting sex slaves free, orphanages that they can get medical equipment, wheelchairs, whatever it is.
22:02
You got to be real and we must step out of that bubble of wanting more and not being thankful for what you have. Ask yourself today who are you and what do you want today call your mother or your father if they’re alive or your wife or your kids tell them that you love you.
22:29
Tell them that you love them, in fact, with the permission of the person sitting next to you, I want you right now, with the permission of the person sitting next to you, give them a hug or give them a high-five right, now go! We’re gonna do something a little different, are you ready? Moscow, are you ready?

The culinary world always serves up a feast of new terminology, and the latest spread is no disappointment. The new menu ranges from the healthy—such as superfruit, a term used to refer to fruits considered to be particularly beneficial—to the markedly less healthy—such as shoestring fries, also known as shoestring potatoes, which are French fries sliced extremely thinly. If you order the Cuban sandwich frita (from the feminine of Spanish frito meaning ‘fried’), you’ll find a handful of these fries in addition to seasoned pork and beef. Should you require something a little more vegan, perhaps you’ll be tempted by aquafaba, a substitute for egg whites used in vegan cooking, with a name that translates from Latin to ‘water-bean’. This name is a reference to the substance’s origins as the water in which chickpeas, or other pulses, have been cooked.
Our lexicographical plates are loaded with foods from across the globe. There’s the Japanese takoyaki—made with chopped octopus formed into balls and cooked in batter—and tonkatsu sauce—a sweet and savoury sauce typically served with breaded pork. The Thai pad kee mao may also be known by its Anglicized name of drunken noodles; this spicy stir-fry consists of vegetables with meat, fish, or tofu served with rice noodles. There are many explanations for the origin of this name. Some believe that it’s a reference to the supposed drunkenness of the chef, leading to ingredients haphazardly chosen and thrown together; others think that it’s a reference to the eater’s drunkenness, either because the meal is a popular choice at the end of a night out, or because its spiciness leads you to drink alongside it until you end up drunk.
Hopping continents, we’ve also added to our dictionary ras-el-hanout, a spice mix used in North African cooking. Its name is derived from the Arabic raʾs al-ḥānūt, which means ‘top of the shop’, indicating that the spices chosen—sometimes up to thirty spices, typically including cumin, coriander seeds, chilli, ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, and cardamom—are the best the shopkeeper has available.
You can see why we need the rule of never defining food before lunch; it can truly whet the appetite.

Investment pitching of the Accelerator of the All-Russian competition for the creation of tourist and recreational clusters and the development of ecotourism in Russia
November 10, 2020 Moscow
The final event of the Acceleration program of the All-Russian competition for the creation of tourist and recreational clusters and the development of ecotourism in Russia – investment pitching – took place at the Kommuna boiling point on November 9, 2020. More than 100 representatives of business communities, development institutions and potential investors could see and evaluate 19 projects of the shopping and entertainment complex – the result of three months of work by the participating teams.
Each of the participants in the investment pitching had the opportunity to ask questions to the teams, evaluate the investment potential of projects already ready for implementation, learn about government support measures, make a choice and agree on further cooperation on mutually beneficial terms. More than 40% of the investors present at the pitching noted that they are ready to invest in projects from 15 to 100 million rubles, about 35% – up to 15 million rubles, and almost a quarter are ready to finance projects in the amount of more than 100 million rubles. More than half are primarily considering the European part of Russia for investments, about 30% are ready to invest in the Urals and Siberia.
Note that potential investors reacted to the task of evaluating the presented concepts of tourist and recreational clusters very responsibly, bombarding teams with sharp questions about the number of projects in the portfolio, the prospects for their payback, the conditions created on projects for Russian or foreign investors – small, medium and large businesses. Opportunities for the development of resorts and territories, their accessibility to a wide range of consumers, the presence of anchors in the tourist-recreational clusters and local support – this is just a short list of questions addressed to the participants of the Accelerator.
During the event, potential investors noted that the most important parameters for them when deciding to enter the project are: the payback period, the availability of infrastructure and existing tourist flows, the ability to start with small investments to confirm the reliability of the project and the transparency of the interaction system of all participants in the process. Almost all defending teams focused on these parameters.
The TRC “Laguna Busse” relied on the tourist flow existing in the region of the southern part of Sakhalin Island, on trails and routes, the cluster’s connection with a ski resort and a competitive geographical position (availability of an airport).
