“Junior and Carlson, who lives on the Roof” is a novel by Swedish writer Astrid Lindgren
7-year-old Junior gets acquainted with a carefree little man with a propeller Carlson, who lives on the roof, can fly and loves to fool around. They become friends and experience many dangerous adventures: they upset someone else’s date, walk on rooftops, engage in a fight with thieves and more.

“The Three from Prostokvashino” Soviet cartoon (in English with Russian subtitles)
Three from Prostokvashino (1978) Soviet animated film based on children’s book Uncle Fedya, His Dog, and His Cat by Eduard Uspensky. // Трое из Простоквашино (1978) советский анимационный фильм по мотивам детской книги Эдуарда Успенского “Дядя Федя, его собака и кот”.
The main character is a six-year-old boy who is called “Uncle Fyodor”. Uncle Fyodor is a very independent city boy, “a boy on his own”. After his mother forbids him from keeping his talking cat Matroskin, Uncle Fyodor runs away from home to live on his own. Uncle Fyodor and the cat arrive at the village Prostokvashino, where they meet the local mongrel Sharik. The three settle in an abandoned house.

После того, как мать запрещает ему держать говорящего кота Матроскина, дядя Федор убегает из дома, чтобы жить самостоятельно. Дядя Федор и кот приезжают в деревню Простоквашино, где знакомятся с местной дворнягой Шариком. Все трое поселяются в заброшенном доме.
