international level. The construction started in July 2021. Earlier the felling of oaks was forbidden on the whole territory of the reserve according to the Decree No. 389-p \u2018\u2018On Approval of the Regulation of the Volgo-Akhtuba Floodplain Nature is planned to cut down more than 32 thousand trees here, most of which are unique floodplain oaks.<\/p>\n<p>However, it is still forbidden to change the hydrological regime and to destroy the habitats grounds.<\/p>\n<p>According to the monitoring data of the Natural Park, during the first phase of construction of the third phase of the bridge over the Volga River 80 habitats of the species of flora and fauna included in the Red Data Books of Russia and Volgograd Oblast are already under the threat of extinction.<\/p>\n<p>As of today, more than 1500 mature trees have already been cut down, including about 300 oaks. The environmental prosecutor\u2019s office issued a protest and two warnings to the developer EKS Group of companies, which are not observed.
